The Community of St Anselm, launched two years ago by Archbishop Justin Welby, invites young Christians from around the world to spend ‘a year in God’s time’ at Lambeth Palace.
We are seeking to appoint a Prior to help us reach the next stage of development and maturity, to develop our vision for young people empowered to live a life marked by prayer, reconciliation and an overwhelming desire to share the Good News. Your central focus will be to provide spiritual and pastoral leadership for the community.
You will be an inspiring leader, implementing and bringing to life the Archbishop’s vison while widening the project to attract wider participation. Due to the spiritual leadership role and sacramental focus of the role, the applicant is required to be a licensed minister within a Christian tradition.
To live up to the challenges of this role, you will bring substantial experience of leadership, be able to work collaboratively with a heightened ability to negotiate complex relationships and promote understanding. Your abilities will include spiritual maturity expressed in self-awareness and depth of personal faith and discipleship.
The post requires you to live in provided accommodation at Lambeth Palace, work flexible hours, spend time on retreat with the community and significantly share in its daily life.
