Training

Equipping you for mission … what happens ?

At Xplore we take a competency based approach to equipping you for mission. We aim to get to know the best way to help you learn what you need to know.

Together we will explore the Biblical view of the Kingdom of God and work with you to develop personal discipline and self-awareness as you become sensitive to the needs of broken communities where you will observe, interpret and reach out with the life transforming message of Jesus.

There will be one teaching day each week looking at understanding various aspects of mission, and the rest of the your time will be on the frontline. Training begins in September each year and is based in various bases within the UK and Ireland. On 4 occasions throughout the year all the Xplore teams will gather for a mix of time out and more in-depth teaching at the Church Army Centre in Sheffield.

Below is an overview of the eight units we look at during training

UNIT One – Two Kingdoms – good and evil, in history, in me, in culture

UNIT Two – Meta-Narratives – Narratives – in culture, in us, how they shape our lives, how we respond

UNIT Three – Personal spiritual disciplines – timelines, journals, distortions, friendship with God, life management

UNIT Four – Self awareness – bearers of God's image, Jesus our example, addictions and scriptings, attachments, responses

UNIT Five – Living in Kingdom community – personal profile, communication, listening skills, harmony, conflict

UNIT Six – Kingdom Community – community and spiritual rhythms, conflict management

UNIT Seven – Receptor culture – understanding, engaging, responding

UNIT Eight – Making Disciples – living out the Gospel yet being counter-cultural, telling the Gospel, telling my story, apprenticeship
