Church Army Barbados

Church Army in Barbados is considered the evangelistic arm of the Anglican Church in Barbados. In Barbados, the work of the Church Army is parish based, so much of the work is done in the parishes and this involves ministering to the sick and shut in and ministering to lapsed members of the parish. The diocesan Church Army is a grouping of these individual branches and their main aim is to do similar work, but on a diocesan level. For example, an annual service is held where all the branches are present, training is organised for leaders of the parish groups and the opportunities are afforded for these groups to interact for support and general sharing of experiences. The diocesan Church Army has contributed financially to the work of the church as well as to other NGO workings with AIDS. They expect shortly to be involved in the prison and hospital ministry.
