Becoming An Evangelist
Reaching people where they are
We are looking for evangelists who want to work with people who have little or no meaningful relationship with church.
People come to Church Army from an enormous variety of backgrounds. There are those who have plenty of academic qualifications while others come with virtually none. We have people of all ages and from all traditions within the Anglican Church. Some have been Anglicans all their life; others have been members of other denominations. There are those who have many years of evangelism already under their belts while others have only limited experience. Some have been Christians all their lives; others have come to faith relatively recently.
What all of them have is the drive, desire and ability to make the love of God through Christ known to others - sharing faith through words and action. Furthermore they are able to spot the opportunities and openings for the Gospel that God provides and to respond to them creatively. Perhaps you are sensing that God is nudging you to test your calling. Perhaps, having looked at other parts of this website, you are wondering if Church Army might be right for you.
If you want to find out more then you can download our Vocations Enquiry Pack.
The initial response of many people as they look through the pages is a feeling of not being good enough or not measuring up to the criteria. Perhaps that will be how you are feel as you read through the pages. That's OK and is probably a good starting point. We probably all feel inadequate at one time or another but God is not! And the training provided will go a long way to help you prepare for ministry. So persevere - Ask God to speak to you as you read through the pages and if you want to talk about your worries or concerns, we are only a phone call or email away.
