Church Army Makes Key New Appointments
Ann Morisy, Community Development Officer for the London Diocese and author of the best selling book on Community Development "Beyond the Good Samaritan", has been appointed to the Church Army Board. Ann joins Peter Ridge, a qualified chartered accountant, who has also recently joined the Board as Treasurer. At the end of last year Peter, a keen supporter of outreach agencies, retired as a Senior Partner in the London Office of Mazars Neville Russell and is the chairman of Lloyds Underwriting Agency. Peter is an active member of St Nicholas Church, Chislehurst, and their Church Council.
James Archer, a Chartered Accountant with wide experience in the charity sector and at present working with PricewaterhouseCoopers based near London Bridge, has been appointed Central Services Director and hopes to take up his new appointment in May. He is currently a Business Adviser to medium-sized companies, leading a team of forty managers and staff, and has responsibility for managing diverse projects and customer relationships, with involvement in staff development and training with PricewaterhouseCoopers. James is the treasurer at Christ Church in St Albans where he leads and teaches at all-age worship services.
Working for a number of years in setting up and running a number of visitor attractions including the Tynemouth Sea Life Centre and the New Forest Nature Quest, Neil Biles has accepted the post of Corporate Planner and Personal Assistant to Chief Secretary Philip Johanson. In the 80's, Neil managed Church Army's Brookfield House youth and conference centre in London's Victoria, but recently he has been with Alpha Flight Services based at Heathrow Airport working in a team called Innovate.
