Church Army "Moving Forward Together" in Bournemouth
Bournemouth's Queen's Hotel is hosting from today (Monday 7th January, 2002) a three day strategy conference for more than 30 senior Church Army staff under the leadership of the Society's first lay Chief Secretary, Captain Philip Johanson, who was awarded an OBE in the New Year's Honours List.
With the theme of "Moving Forward Together", delegates will be looking to the future of Church Army ministry in the light of new challenges and opportunities. Tonight, the former Mayor of Bournemouth, Councillor Keith Rawlings, will be the after dinner speaker at the conference.
Tomorrow night (Tuesday 8th January) Church Army will be hosting a Reception and Dinner at the Queens Hotel for friends and supporters in the area. The Mayor and Mayoress of Bournemouth will be the guests of honour on that occasion. Also present will be the new Chair of the Church Army Board, Mr. Roy Totten, a Northern Ireland managing director of a mechanical engineering Company, and Miss June Simpson, the outgoing and first lady chair of the Board.
