Church Army Role for London UPA Adviser
Ann Morisy, just appointed to the Church Army Board, has developed the concept of "Community Ministry" and has promoted this form of purposeful mission in her best selling book "Beyond the Good Samaritan". Brought up in a "Church Army" parish in Bootle in Merseyside, Ann has cared about and often been involved in its distinctive outreach work
Part of her responsibility as Urban Priory Area Adviser in the Diocese of London is to keep up to date with government policy developments, both in relation to urban regeneration and social policy. Ann has a special concern in relation to older people and the Church and seeks to harness the competence and availability of the elderly.
Ann is highly qualified in applied social studies, adult education and teaching, theology and youth and community work. She lives in south London and is a volunteer with Lambeth Mediation Service and the Mennonite "Bridgebuilder" project which provides mediation services for churches. Her introduction to her new Church Army role has been a two-day residential Board meeting at the Wilson Carlile College of Evangelism in Sheffield.
