Key Church Army Post for St Albans Chartered Accountant

A Chartered Accountant with wide experience in the charity sector, James Archer has been appointed as Central Services Director in Church Army with overall responsibility for Finance, IT, Property, Marketing, Fundraising and Human Resources. He plans to be present at Church Army's Swanwick Conference at the end of April and hopes to take up his new appointment in May.

James (40) is at present working with PricewaterhouseCoopers, based near London Bridge, as a Business Adviser to medium-sized companies. He leads a team of forty managers and staff responsible for managing diverse projects and customer relationships and has also been heavily involved in staff development and training with PricewaterhouseCoopers, making extensive use of Information Technology in his work.

Married to Janet, James lives in St Albans and is the treasurer at Christ Church where he leads and teaches at all-age worship services. He is involved in reviewing applications from charities on behalf of a grant-making trust of which he is a Trustee and Treasurer. He lists as his hobbies, tree gardening, tennis, rambling and puzzles.
