Future of Lowestoft home for elderly secured by Church Army
Church Army has secured the future of Harleston House in Lowestoft with its sale as a going concern to Greensleeves Homes Trust.
Harleston House is a 24-bed home for older people in Park Road, Lowestoft, and has a reputation as a beacon of excellence in the residential care of older people.
Ian Fishwick, Operational Director of Church Army, said: It is a great pleasure to be able to announce the sale of Harleston House to Greensleeves Homes Trust. We have been looking for a way to secure the future of Harleston House, and are particularly pleased to have a buyer who will maintain the existing ethos of the house.
Despite the decision to sell Harleston House, Church Army remains committed to evangelism among older people in Lowestoft and our local deanery evangelist, John Worsfold, will continue to work among older people in the area.
Douglas Frost, Chief Executive of Greensleeves Homes Trust said: We provide high quality care for elderly people in comfortable and affordable accommodation, through a commitment to the core values of privacy, dignity, independence, choice, rights and fulfilment.
Our services are open to all older people who need them, regardless of their ethnic origin or beliefs, and we extend our care to those who are very frail, either physically or mentally, wherever possible until the end of life.
We believe, therefore, that the residents of Harleston House will find the ethos of Greensleeves to be very similar to that which they currently enjoy, and we will seek to make their transfer into our care as smooth as possible.
