God Turned Up For Young People in Paradise

go_kartChurch Army’s Rob Barker and Chair of Mowbray Deanery Youth Council headed up “Paradise Reloaded” a youth camp based at Paradise Farm, Kirkby Knowle in Thirsk, Yorkshire. Along with team of Church Army evangelists, Rob and his team from Mowbray Deanery led an event which focused on building up the faith of around 30 young people and culminated in a joint Whitsun service with St Wilfrids Church at which the Bishop of Whitby presided.

Bishop Robert commented; “This was a fantastic event and wall_climbingit was great to see the support given by the team from Church Army to help make this event such a success and help change the lives of young people.”

Paradise Reloaded was inspired by the vision Julie Wilkinson, the owner of Paradise Farm, who wanted to open her farm for a Christian camp. Julie and her husband Steve, ended up fencing off fields, providing toilet facilities and a water main and giving all they could to make the event happen. This year the Army based at the nearby Catterick Barracks helped by supplying tents and the local Rotarians donated a marquee and provided financial support.

Rob Barker comments; “Paradise Reloaded was a great success. Over 30 young people had a real encounter with the Holy Spirit. God turned up and touched the lives of these youngsters in a very real way.”
