Mission-shaped focus at the heart of Church Army's Annual Review

“Our single focus is to remain on the frontline of effective pioneering Christian outreach” is the message that Roy Totten (Chairman) and Philip Johanson (Chief Secretary) share with supporters in their introduction to the Church Army Annual Review out today.

The eight page overview of Church Army’s work over the past 12 months makes it clear that mission-shaped focus is driving our thinking, as we reaffirm the need for evangelists to spend most of their time working outside church buildings, engaging with those who have openness to faith issues, but are not interested in church.

annual_review2004The review highlights the work of over 17 different projects and initiatives that have caught the imagination during the past year, it shows through practical examples just how much Church Army is working in partnership with a wide range of organisations to respond positively to the modern-day mission context where, according to a recent poll, nearly twice as many young people believe in horoscopes as in the Bible, and around forty percent of adults in England and Wales have left the church in their lifetimes.
