Scooter Future Thrills Page Moss Kidz Klub
Church Armys Kidz Klub, based at Trinity Church in Page Moss, has been gifted with 240 foldable small-wheel scooters which were passed on to infant and junior aged children after their Kidz Klub sessions.
Kidz Klub leaders faced a practical dilemma when it came to the actual distribution. Church Armys Phil Clark, minister at Trinity, explained: It was natural that many more children turned up than is usual. The theme of their sessions was God will give you what you need, not what you want. We appealed for those children who already had a scooter - or could share with a brother or sister not to receive one. We were thrilled that 15 children held back and there were just enough to go round!
Around 300 children are registered at Kidz Klub, which puts over the Christian faith to young people in a fresh and exciting way that is closer to Saturday morning TV than traditional Sunday School. The theme for this term is based on Heroes.
Captain Phil, Kidz Klubs top banana, is delighted that around 120 children per week regularly attend and added: We set up Kidz Klub five years ago to respond to the needs of the local children and we are delighted that a partnership with InKindDirect has enabled us to gift these scooters to our members as an expression of our love for them.
Phil is clear about the mission of Kidz Klub: Young people now come together in various age groups to learn life skills through the transforming message of the Christian faith in action. Parents and carers tell us that their children respond positively to what they learn at Kidz Klub and love coming every week. We are motivated by seeing our young people growing up in this area with the right sort of values in life.
