Building partnership for a can-do mission

Shareit20The latest issue of Share IT!, Church Army’s magazine, outlines how partnerships are being built with community organisations, churches, mission agencies and other organisations to help Church Army to move forward with a commitment to see lives changed and to reach out to people where they are.

Chief Secretary Philip Johanson outlines the work of a can-do organisation with God’s help and highlights his commitment to work in partnership with others in order to respond positively and effectively to the mission challenge in a post-Christian society.

The 16 page issue of Share IT! features a number of projects where Church Army is working in partnership with others to make a difference on the cutting edge of mission and evangelism in the UK and Ireland. These projects include the Nottingham based Malt Cross café bar ; Ingleby Net community project in Stockton on Tees; working in partnership to support homeless people in London, Swansea, Nottingham and Chesterfield; Blah north-west partnership with CMS ; Community mission in Hull and an exciting partnership between Belfast churches and Liverpool Football Club.

In his column, Philip Johanson is confident about an approach to mission founded on good partnership principles: “It was Paul writing to the church at Philippi who said that I can do everything through Him who gives me strength . In the same letter Paul writes about partnership in the gospel, and it is because of this that I consider Church Army to be a can-do organisation. We can achieve more together than we can going our separate ways."
