TV star Eamonn Holmes backs Streetreach
Well known television presenter Eamonn Holmes has backed the work of Streetreach, the initiative of Summer Madness, supported by Church Army, to channel young people into a practical demonstration of Gods love in the local community.
Eamonn, former GMTV and National Lottery Jet Set presenter, who recently fronted a TV programme about cleaning up the city of Belfast, was very positive in his backing for the project. He comments: So often young people have a reputation of not caring- the work of Streetreach demonstrates that is not always the case. Through their work in Belfast with refugees, cleaning up community areas, giving away flowering baskets and taking old age pensioners on trips, they present a positive image of young people who want to make a practical difference to their community. Thank goodness we have young people in our midst who care like this- hats off to them.
Church Armys Neville Willerton, Streetreachs project manager, added: Its fantastic that Eamonn is backing the work we do with Streetreach so positively, and I hope that the support of such a popular broadcaster will help raise the profile of what these tremendous young people are doing on the streets of Belfast.
Streetreach 2005 will run from 5th - 11th July 2005- click here for more information.
