Nightclub Chaplain Site Launches

nightclubchaplainlogoChurch Army has just launched http://www.nightclubchaplain.co.uk/ to promote the work of Diana Greenfield, Church Army's Nightclub Chaplain based in Maidstone. Diana's work recently featured in The Times ( click here for the story). The site aims to provide an overview of the work of nightclub chaplaincy and has already had over 1000 hits. Site features include an on-line forum; useful website links; news and a diary with a link to Diana's webblog.

Diana comments, "The Gospel can be applied in any culture and the church needs to be creative in today's world - the website allows me to share with many more people the value of the work that is being done through Nightclub chaplaincy." Julian Hollyoake, the manager of Ikon, the club where Diana works says of her work, "She is a great asset, very experienced in clubs and spots potential issues when they talk to her it saves them from major stress." Other nightclub staff describe here as "brilliant" and someone who "always pitches in when times are busy".

Beer mats with the the website address are placed around the club to promote the site to clubbers.

Diana describes her work as "to be God's hands, ears, eyes and mouth".  Perhaps the presence of Diana as nightclub chaplain is best summed up in the verse from Phillipians mentioned on her website - "you shine like stars in the universe as you hold out the word of life".
