Rezurgence looks to Church Army training to develop its ministry

 

Rezurgence a unique new ministry that brings Mountain biking, BMX and Faith into one a fresh expression of Christian faith is looking to Church Army's for its ministry training needs.

Will New, visionary founder and Director of Rezurgence comments As a vital foundation supporter of Rezurgence, Church Army backed our vision and enabled us to get off the ground. They offered real support from a wide ranging knowledge base which was tailored for our needs where it is needed most. Their support for www.rezuregence.com showed me that they make a positive difference on the cutting edge taking risks for the gospel.

www.rezurgence.com is a purely rider run website that offers quality information for mountain bike and BMX riders. The site is developing an area tagged as This Faith Thing- dedicated to sharing issues about the Christian faith and links to useful online resources such as www.word-on-the-web.co.uk as well as a direct link to the Rez-Rev who is a minister who can answer specific questions e-mailed to him.

This month Rezurgence staff will enroll at Church Army's for a modular course Evangelism, Culture and Context. College Principal David Jeans adds: I am delighted that Will's team will be joining us for this training. This shows that Rezurgence is not just about reaching people through a web site. They want to be active in the field, on the hill or in the skate park to share faith through words and actions with people and recognize that the is the best place for this hands-on practical ministry training. This is a new module exploring the relationship between approaches to evangelism within specific cultural contexts and explores developing appropriate and relevant fresh expressions of church.

Will describes the type of ministry Rezurgence hopes to offer: We want to reach out and support riders, all riders, through mountain biking and BMX events across the UK where all walks-of-life come into one area. This is a unique opportunity to open our door to this audience and share faith and welcome all. We will be at these events supporting riders with an events area offering a treatment zone, a chill zone, prayer area, recharge areas plus much, much more. Being in the field is difficult and dotted with many challenges. However, with Church Army support, experience and proven track record working on the edge taking risks for Christ we know we can make it. Being able to tap into Church Army experience for our mission is invaluable. They offer an awesome in this area and the chance for Rezurgence to utilize this expertise and experience is fantastic.
