Lent Appeal 2006
Lent appeal poses "how would it feel to be young again?" question for supporters
Church Army will this week launch its Lent appeal to supporters - "How would it feel to be young again?" .
Supporters are invited to help to shape a positive future for young people across the UK and in Uganda, through the work of Church Army projects and evangelists focused on helping youngsters who face challenging and difficult circumstances arising from increased family responsibilities, lack of education and self-harm.
The appeal contrasts the challenges facing Mukasa - a 14 year old based in a small Ugandan village served by Church Army's Bob Arnold and the Bungokho Rural Development Centre with those faced by young people - James, Helen and Paul based in the UK and ministered to by Church Army's Amber and Grafted projects and evangelists John O'Neil and Paul Little.
Kate Vigurs, Church Army's Donor Development Officer comments: "This appeal is going out to over 5,000 individuals and over 3,000 parishes across the UK and Ireland. We are confident our loyal supporters will join us in supporting this incredible work which is focused on helping young people in desperate need to find a better way to live through Christ. With £30,000 to raise for these projects, all donations are vital if we are to continue our work with young people at risk in vulnerable circumstances".
