Church Army welcomes announcement of New Bishop of Birmingham

Church Army has welcomed the nomination of the Rt Revd David Andrew Urquhart, Suffragan Bishop of Birkenhead, for election as Bishop of Birmingham in succession to the Most Revd and Rt Hon John Sentamu. Philip Johanson, Church Army's Chief Secretary comments:  "We were delighted to hear of the appointment as the Bishop of Birkenhead as the new Bishop of Birmingham.  Bishop David has served in the past as a consultant to Church Army on strategic planning issues and he also served as an external assessor at the Wilson Carlile College College of Evangelism in Sheffield.  He is very much a Bishop in mission,  committed to effective local evangelism  and with a real desire to see people come into a living relationship with Jesus Christ.  We look forward to working with him in the future."
