Church Army welcomes Jesus on Myspace
29 Sep 2006
Church Army has welcomed the launch of the new
Churches Advertising Network's Christmas campaign, Where will you find him?
The campaign has radio and poster ads featuring the face of Jesus in an almost empty beer glass and invites people to visit a webpage on myspace.com to talk about their views and experiences of God.
Neil Biles, Church Army's Director of Evangelism and Fresh Expressions who supports the campaign says, "We say 'cheers!' to the people who have devised the eye-catching campaign showing the face of Jesus in a beer glass. Church Army evangelists have been committed for many years to taking the good news out of the churches into places where the people who need to hear it gather. Many of them work in pubs and clubs. It is great to know that hundreds of people who look up from their beer glass wondering what the point of Christmas is will find a Church Army evangelist able to point them to Jesus. And share a pint!"
Steve Plumb, a Church Army pub evangelist in Sheffield adds, "This new initiative is in the same spirit as the apostle Paul, who wanting all to know and experience the transforming love and power of Jesus, would engage with people where they were, and in ways culturally relevant to them."
