Church Army welcomes new Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of All Ireland

Bishop Alan HarperChurch Army has welcomed the announcement that the Bishop of Connor, the Rt Revd Alan Harper, has been elected Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of All Ireland by the House of Bishops of the Church of Ireland.

Church Army's Chief Executive Mark Russell, who grew up in Portadown in the diocese of Armagh comments: "I am delighted to learn of the election of the Rt Revd Alan Harper as the new Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of All Ireland. Bishop Alan is a man of deep faith and will bring much to this crucial role. Church Army has a number of evangelists working in Connor Diocese, and Bishop Alan has always been a strong supporter of our work. I very much look forward to working with him in the future, as we seek to help parishes minister to a fast changing Ireland. I assure Bishop Alan of my prayers and the prayers of the whole Church Army family."
