You’re hired says God to online Christians

21 Jun 2007

This week, Church Army's word-on-the-web subscribers are being told they're hired by God. The daily emailed bible reflections that go to over 7,500 subscribers are following a special themed week based on Terry Eckersley's book The True Apprentice.

Terry is chief executive of Woking YMCA, a new youth initiative in Surrey and in his new book he describes the steps you can take to become a 'faithful follower' of Jesus. Eckersley says; "There's a big boss who's looking for apprentices and these studies offer practical advice, entertaining stories and moving illustrations to help meet that challenge."

David Coleman, Church Army's Communications Manager adds; "On the TV show only one person can become the apprentice and the others are told they are fired. These reflections aim to encourage people that God wants to hire anyone who will follow his ways whether they are successful at their task or not. Being God's apprentice is a lifetime task which millions of Christians struggle to live out each day. We hope these studies can help."

Each day, the reflections will feature a bible passage from Matthew 10: 38-42 featuring Jesus in the Alan Sugar role of setting his followers task with an extract from The True Apprentice to offer daily inspiration and reflection.
