Church Army’s skate-boarding Evangelist Andy Milne assists with Baptisms

Last night, eight young people and one adult were baptised in a birthing pool in Trinity, Idle by the Bishop of Bradford, the Rt Revd David James with the assistance of Church Army's skate-boarding evangelist Andy Milne.
The young people, who are aged 13-17 and from Idle in Bradford, have become Christians in the last two years through the work of Church Army skate-boarding Evangelist Andy Milne.
The baptisms were originally to have taken place in the River Wharfe by Bolton Abbey in September, but due to the poor weather conditions and the height of the river, it was called off.
Before the Baptism, 15 year old Matty Ambrose who met Andy through a school club said, "It'll be great to publicly show my faith in Jesus. It's a shame we can't be baptised in the way He was-in a river- but on the other hand it's going to be a lot warmer in a pool.
"I met Andy through a school club and then I've been attending a youth church he set up at Holy Trinity in Idle. A big boost to my faith this year was going to Soul Survivor in Somerset which is like a Christian Glastonbury with around 12,000 people. Since then I've been doing a bit of preaching which I'm really getting into."
"I think the best way to go about your life is to find God and follow him. It means you've got someone who's there for you all the time. People seem to think religions just about going to church, but it's a lot more than that and you can have just as much fun."
"Andy Milne says, "I'm really excited that the young people want to show their faith and commitment to Jesus in this way."
