Bringing hope and living hope at the heart of latest Annual Review
12 November 2007
Church Army has launched its latest Annual Review Bringing hope, Living hope
"We are about sharing the love of Christ to bring transformation to individuals and communities across the UK and Ireland", comments Chief Executive Mark Russell "We reach out to people who have little or no connection with church and the projects our evangelists are involved with have strengthened and brought hope to people across the generations."
The review features the work of nine Church Army evangelists working with the young and old alike in areas as widespread as Sheffield, Belfast, and Cardiff, Winchester and Colchester- helping to reach out to people where they are with the love of Christ in relevant and appropriate ways. The review also highlights the range of resources that Church Army has available to assist with mission and evangelism such as word on the web, Inspire magazine, POSADA and hopeinfo.co.uk
Church Army's approach to mission has been welcomed by the Revd Dr Stephen Croft, of Fresh Expressions who comments: "The work Church Army is doing with its key projects and pioneering evangelists will help many more people find faith and engage positively with the work of the church."
Introducing the review to supporters, Mark Russell added; "Church Army will continue to reach out to the majority of people who do not consider themselves connected to church and we ask for your prayers and support in this vital activity. We are passionate about bringing hope and living hope to those we meet- the living hope of the Christian gospel that truly transforms lives."
The theme of the review builds on the work of the Bringing Hope, Living Hope campaign and appeal launched earlier in the year by Church Army that has engaged Christians to share something of their own stories of hope.
A special four page newspaper supplement is also published in the Church Times and Church of England Newspaper this week.
