Church Army's Marylebone Project-London's largest women only hostel is marking next week's poverty and homelessness action week by hosting Urban Dawn on Tuesday 29th January at Elgood and Portman House (see map)

The event, which will feature a performance from Saints Gospel Choir will also host poetry, an art exhibition and real life stories from women connected with the project who will share their first-hand insight into homelessness and poverty issues in London. A member of staff from Eaves will talk about Trafficking and how the organisation works to improve the safety and wellbeing of women from all over the UK who have been trafficked and who are in need of short term support and advocacy.

Carole London Baptiste, the Director of the Marylebone Project says; "It is essential that the voices of women who have experiences poverty and homelessness at first-hand are heard. This event will draw attention to just a fraction of the real-life stories behind poverty and homelessness and use a wide range of resources to stimulate prayer and reflection and act on homelessness and poverty, to encourage people who need our help."

It is hoped that the Marylebone project will post stories and performances from the event on their website.
