Rose appointed Queen's Chaplain
29 February 2008
Rose Hudson-Wilkin has been appointed chaplain to her Majesty the Queen
who is the patron of Church Army. Rose moved from the St. Francis Mission in Glendevon, Jamaica, to the UK to train with Church Army in London and was commissioned a Church Army Officer in 1982. She was one of the first women to be admitted into the priesthood of the Church of England in 1991.
Mark Russell comments, "This is great news and a fantastic honour for Rose. She will be a great asset in her role as chaplain for the Queen and will bring to the role the openness and honesty of real life in East London. She has a great pool of knowledge and a great relationship with our Lord. I wish Rose all the best in her role and pray that she continues to present the gospel as she sees it."
