Lessons of 9/11 help explore Hope in new short film

9 September 2008

Brian McLarenIn Hope Explored, the latest in a series of short films from www.hopeinfo.co.uk, Brian McLaren author of A New Kind of Christian and Everything Must Change, talks about the need to reach out to our neighbours to tackle the three main crises facing the world today and bring hope to a frightened world. McLaren shares his personal story of how he reacted to his own Muslim neighbours after the 2001 terrorist attack and the prominent and controversial Christian thinker goes on to explore how the way we are treating the planet; the enormous and unsustainable gap between the haves and have nots, and the proliferation of violence and weapons, combine to dangerous effect. Hope Explored aims to explore the need for a real hope for the present, just as much as a hope for the future.

www.hopeinfo.co.uk has had around 40,000 hits and was created by the Christian Enquiry Agency and Church Army to support the national Hope 2008 campaign. It enables people of all faith perspectives and none to explore the relationship between hope and faith, and suggests ways to explore the Christian faith further in both word and action.
