UK mission agency, Church Army, launched its latest Annual Review and Accounts 2011 Life to the Full at its AGM in London last Thursday.
Life to the Full gives a snapshot of the work of Church Army in helping ordinary men and women discover the transforming power of the Christian gospel.
"All over the UK and Ireland our Evangelists are helping people discover life to the full," comments Chief Executive Mark Russell. "We work where the need is greatest, bringing hope in the midst of deprivation, showing God's love where hope seems lost and helping those on the margins of society find a sense of self."
Focusing on the Bible verse John 10:10 which talks about Jesus' promise to give life to the full, this year's Annual Review and Accounts 2011 features the work of eight Church Army Evangelists bringing God's transforming love to people who may have little or no contact with the church. The Evangelists featured are based across the UK and Ireland, sharing the gospel in a variety of situations. Evangelists such as Graham Nunn who has been helping to transform the lives of children and young people for over 17 years or Evangelists like Sue who is helping more and more women involved in prostitution come off the streets.
The Annual Review also highlights some of the many initiatives that Church Army has been supporting this year including www.hopeinfo.co.uk, www.rejesus.co.uk, Inspire Magazine and its own gap year programme for 18-24 year olds, Xplore.
"We are well aware of how effective Church Army is in helping our churches build valuable bridges into the community" says Rt Rev Ken Good, Bishop of Derry and Raphoe, who is a key supporter of Church Army's work. "Let's thank God for Church Army."
In his letter to supporters, Chief Executive Mark Russell said; "At the heart of the Church Army's DNA is a passion to make Jesus famous. Our Evangelists work tirelessly to bring the life changing Gospel of Jesus Christ to people who have never even heard about him. As you read the different stories in this review, we ask that you join us in praying for and supporting our evangelists as they help people discover the love of Christ and experience the transforming power of that love in their lives. "
A special four page newspaper supplement is also published in the Church Times and Church of England Newspaper.
