Mark Russell welcomes the new General Director of Evangelical Alliance

Church Army's Chief Executive Mark Russell has warmly welcomed Steve Clifford's appointment as the new General Director of Evangelical Alliance.

Steve has served on the Evangelical Alliance Council and Board, as well as playing a big part in the March for Jesus, Soul in the City London, Soul Survivor and HOPE 08 initiatives.

Gifted at enabling and mobilising teams and individuals into action, Steve has a great ability to build partnerships with people from across the Christian spectrum. His vision has consistently centred around mission and evangelism.

The Evangelical Alliance asks everyone to continue to uphold Steve in prayer – his new role begins in the first week of April.

Mark Russell welcomed Steve's appointment with these words: "I am delighted by Steve's appointment as the new General Director of Evangelical Alliance. I hugely enjoyed working with Joel Edwards, and know Steve will bring his wisdom, leadership skills and energy to this important role. He has my support and prayers."

Mark Russell serves on the Council of the Evangelical Alliance and is their representative on the Church of England Evangelical Council.
