Warwick Gates - a Church Army Centre of Mission
News Release: 12 February 2010
A new film from Church Army highlights the early successes of its Centre of Mission in the Diocese of Coventry.
Warwick Gates is a large community containing both new private housing and older social housing, where Church Army's Roger Horsley and Paul Warren are training Evangelists of the future even as they take the Gospel into new areas.
Roger describes trainees Damien Hine and Dawn Hudson as "absolutely brilliant", praising their abilities to connect with people in the community through work with schools, older people and a creative approach to evangelism.
Paul describes Mission-based Training as "a really, really exciting way of training people" as it puts a major emphasis on practical evangelism, whilst retaining the academic studies for which Church Army is famed.
Damien and Dawn stress how important it is for both of them that they are fully involved in ministries they believe God has called them to.
