Rosalie Jacobs - seven phenomenal decades

News Release: 28 October 2010

Rosalie Jacobs with Edwin Bates This week, Sister Rosalie Jacobs celebrated the 70th anniversary of her commissioning as a Church Army Evangelist.

A local choir sang at a special reception held in Norwich, and Rosalie cut a cake which was topped with the Church Army crest. Church Army's Chief Executive Mark Russell spoke to the congregation, saying what a phenomenal achievement it was for Rosalie to have been a commissioned officer for twice as many years as he has been alive!

He went on to say: "Like so many of our Church Army Evangelists, Rosalie is still worrying the devil in her retirement, and scoring goals in extra time! Rosalie today we thank God for you, for the amazing and wonderful inspiration you are to us all. Your energy, your commitment, your faith, your passion for the Lord are an example to us all.

Graham James, the Bishop of Norwich added “Rosalie is the real deal!”. I couldn’t have put it better myself. Rosalie the whole Church Army family joins me in congratulating you on this special day.
